Matt LaFleur Reiterates Desire to Be Packers HC Amid Hot-Seat Rumors After Bears Playoff Loss
Despite the speculation surrounding his job security following Saturday's disappointing playoff loss to the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is making it clear that he wants to stay put.
While speaking to reporters on Sunday, LaFleur reiterated that he wants to remain the head coach of the Packers.
"This is one of one. I love this place," he said, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

LaFleur was also asked if he would be comfortable coaching without an extension to his contract, which expires at the end of the 2026 season, and he responded, "That's not my focus."
The Packers are reeling from a 31-27 loss in which they allowed the Bears to overcome an 18-point deficit in Saturday's meeting between the division rivals. This marked the second straight year that Green Bay was eliminated from the playoffs in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Despite another early postseason exit, it's clear that LaFleur still has the support of his players. Star quarterback Jordan Love gave his head coach a vote of confidence, saying, "I definitely think Matt should be the head coach. I've got a lot of love for Matt, and I think he does a good job. And that's it."
Second-year safety Evan Williams added, "He's our leader. I'll tell you that much. We have full faith in him, in all of his decisions. I can't speak on any extension or anything that's in his future. I know business is business, but he's been my only head coach and really the only one that I see needing moving forward."
It remains to be seen if the Packers brass feels the same way, but a decision on LaFleur's future could be coming soon.
