Packers' Brandon McManus Takes Blame After 'Embarrassing Performance' in Loss to Bears
The Green Bay Packers lost Saturday's NFC Wild Card Game to the Chicago Bears by four points.
Kicker Brandon McManus left seven points on the table with two missed field goals and a missed extra point, so it wasn't difficult to place plenty of the blame on his shoulders.
Which is exactly what he did.

"This is the biggest disappointment of my career," he told reporters. "Just an embarrassment of a performance."
He also said facing his teammates in the locker room was "emotional" and difficult.
"It's disappointing that my role on the team is to make kicks and these guys pour in thousands of plays over the course of the season, and I leave seven points on the board today," he said. "It's the most disappointing point of my career."
McManus' first miss didn't seem like a significant deal at the time. It was a 55-yard attempt on the final play of the first half, and Green Bay still took a 21-3 lead into intermission after a dominant performance in the first 30 minutes.
However, the Bears came charging back in a fourth quarter that included a missed extra point and a missed 44-yard field goal from McManus. Those four points proved to be the difference, and even making one of those kicks would have changed the math on the visitors' final drive.
Since they were down four, the Packers had to throw the ball to the end zone on the last play from the Bears' 28-yard line. Had they been down by one or three, they could have kicked a field goal.
Of course, there's no guarantee that hypothetical kick would have gone in given how McManus performed Saturday.
