Glenn was a lock after being crowned the U.S. champion for the third straight year. She finished with an overall score of 233.55 and set a new record (83.05 points) in the short program.
"I knew that I came here to do my job, and I was happy to see that scores were up, scores were good, and I was able to keep them going up," she told reporters after the performance. "I felt a responsibility to keep it going better and better and better."
Glenn was also atop the standings in the free skate to cap off a comprehensive victory.
Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito, who were second and third in St. Louis, were equally as sure of securing a trip to the Olympics. In the case of Liu, this is her second time on Team USA.
At the national championships, Liu's 81.11 points in the short program were briefly a record before Glenn one-upped her.
The 20-year-old also won gold in the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships and has a bronze medal from 2022.
Levito first medaled in the U.S. Championships in 2022, when she was just 14. A year later, she won the whole thing in 2023. She also collected a silver in the 2024 World Championships.
The pressure is on Glenn, Liu and Levito to end a lengthy drought.
Sasha Cohen (2006) is the last American woman to medal in the individual competition at the Winter Games, and Sarah Hughes (2002) is the last to earn gold. With a sixth-place showing, Liu was the highest U.S. finisher in 2022.
In general, expectations for Team USA are high heading into the Olympics this time around. The trio of Glenn, Levito and Liu reside in the top five of the ISU world standings.
Once again getting shut out on the podium in women's figure skating will be a massive disappointment if it comes to pass.
