Ben Johnson Showed Bears Video of Tom Brady, Patriots' '28-3 Comeback' vs. Falcons in Super Bowl

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson prepared his team for the moment during Saturday's comeback from a 21-3 halftime deficit against the Green Bay Packers back in training camp.

That is when he showed the team footage from the New England Patriots' famous 28-3 comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. While Chicago didn't quite come back from that large of a deficit, it scored 25 points in the fourth quarter to earn a 31-27 win.

"That was my message to the group, was just reminding them that this has been done before and rather than saying 'woe is me' and 'crap we're in a hole,' it's more this is a great opportunity for us to turn this thing around into a game that we'll never forget," Johnson told reporters. "And that's what they did."

Johnson pointed out that current Bears players Joe Thuney (Patriots) and Grady Jarrett (Falcons) played in that Super Bowl and added, "it was just great to get perspective from both of those players of how that game went down."

It went down with Tom Brady leading the Patriots to 19 points in the fourth quarter to force overtime before James White scored the winning touchdown in the extra period. Atlanta managed just one touchdown in the second half, which is the same number of touchdowns the Packers scored after intermission Saturday.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was a quarterbacks coach on that Falcons team during the Super Bowl as well, so Saturday was yet another painful blown lead for him even if the Lombardi Trophy wasn't at stake this time.
