NFL Rumors on Packers' Jeff Hafley, Potential HC Landing Spots Revealed

Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is reportedly drawing interest from multiple teams with head coaching vacancies this winter.

Hafley has received interview requests from the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans, The MMQB's Albert Breer and ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported.

The Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins also requested interviews with Hafley, per Fowler.

Although Hafley was not allowed to communicate with other teams last week ahead of the Packers' Wild Card matchup with the Chicago Bears, the coach's schedule is now open after the 31-27 loss.

Hafley spent seven years working as an NFL positional coach, leading defensive backs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers from 2012 to 2018.

He later spent four seasons as head coach at Boston College before he joined the Packers ahead of the 2024 season.

The Packers defense ranked fifth in yards allowed and sixth in points allowed during the unit's first season with Hafley calling plays.

This season Hafley's unit has ranked 12th in yards allowed and 11th in points allowed on the team's way to clinching a third straight Wild Card berth.

Hafley told reporters Wednesday it was "obviously extremely flattering and very humbling" to hear his name mentioned in head coaching rumors.

"I think right now, with all that stuff, it can be a distraction, so I'm trying to lock in on these playoffs to do the best that we can," Hafley said. "And then whenever that time comes, we'll figure it out and go from there."

The Packers will hoping to make a deep playoff run, but a late collapse against the Bears ended their season with a first-round loss.

Teams can hold interviews with Hafley starting Jan. 13.
