The initial set will feature game-used jerseys worn by rookies including the New York Islanders' Matthew Schaefer and San Jose Sharks' Michael Misa, according to Upper Deck.
The Anaheim Ducks' Beckett Sennecke, Nashville Predators' Brady Martin, Edmonton Oilers' Isaac Howard and Toronto Maple Leafs' Easton Cowan will also be featured in the series, per Upper Deck.
The rookie's full debut jerseys will be used to create the cards, according to Upper Deck.
The cards will feature a piece of the players' jersey, along with a photo of them wearing that jersey during their debut game.
Special editions of the cards will include autographed editions, including a signed variation featuring a "unique patch or fight strap tags from the debut jersey," according to Upper Deck.
Topps has previously released multiple Debut Patch collections featuring pieces of jerseys from rookies in MLB, MLS and other leagues. That has not extended to the NHL, with which Upper Deck has exclusive rights to licensed trading cards.
