Latest NFL Rumors on Dolphins GM Search as Chad Alexander, Josh Williams, More Linked
The Miami Dolphins reportedly are making progress in their search for a new general manager.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the team is "moving into the second phase" of the search and has interviews set up with the Los Angeles Chargers' Chad Alexander, Green Bay Packers' Jon-Eric Sullivan, San Francisco 49ers' Josh Williams and interim GM Champ Kelly.
Alexander began his career with the Baltimore Ravens as a player personnel assistant and ended up spending 20 years with the organization, including 10 years as the assistant director of pro personnel. He was then the New York Jets director of player personnel from 2019 to 2024 before joining the Chargers as assistant general manager last season.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Sullivan has spent his entire NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, first joining the organization in 2003 and serving various roles over the last two-plus decades. He was the co-director of player personnel from 2018 to 2021 and took over as vice president of player personnel in 2022.
Williams has likewise only been with one team throughout his career, joining the 49ers in 2011 and working various scouting roles until 2024, when he took over as the director of scouting and football operations.
While Kelly may have a leg up on the other candidates since he's already with the team, he's not exactly a veteran in Miami. Kelly spent eight years with the Denver Broncos to start his NFL career, before spending seven years with the Chicago Bears. He was the Las Vegas Raiders assistant general manager from 2022 to 2024 and joined the Dolphins as a senior personnel executive ahead of the 2025 campaign.
According to Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper, the Dolphins have also requested to speak to 49ers vice president of player personnel Tariq Ahmad, Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby, Rams assistant GM John McKay and 49ers assistant GM RJ Gillen this week.
