NFL Reveals Most-Watched Games, Historic Viewership for 2025 Regular Season Schedule

The 2025 NFL regular season was one of the most viewed in league history.

Games averaged 18.7 million viewers across television and digital, marking the league's highest season-long average since 1989, the NFL announced Wednesday.

That average viewership also marked a 10 percent increase over the 2024 season, according to the NFL.

The most-watched games this season both took place on Thanksgiving Day, according to the NFL.

A total of 105 million viewers watched the Kansas City Chiefs play the Dallas Cowboys, and the Green Bay Packers take on the Detroit Lions, that Thursday.

Outside of the holiday, the most-watched game took place when 33.8 million viewers tuned in to the Super Bowl LIX rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Chiefs in Week 2.

The Chiefs were also featured in the other top-viewed games, a Week 9 matchup with the Buffalo Bills and Week 11 game against the Denver Broncos.

The NFL will now hope to set more viewership records in the postseason despite the Chiefs missing out on the playoffs following Patrick Mahomes' season-ending injury.

Last year's Super Bowl between the Eagles and Chiefs set an all-time record with a projected average audience of 126 million viewers, according to Fox Sports.
