NFL Rumors on Raiders, Cardinals HC Searches, Potential Matt Nagy Landing Spots
The Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals have filed requests to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Nagy is also slated to speak with the Tennessee Titans.
The 47-year-old went 34-31 in his four years as head coach of the Chicago Bears. He returned to the Chiefs in 2022, initially becoming their quarterbacks coach before replacing Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator in 2023.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Titans will hope 2025 No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward makes some big strides in his second season. He showed some flashes as a rookie but mostly struggled as he threw for 3,169 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Raiders fired head coach Pete Carroll after one season and own the first pick in the 2026 draft. They're seemingly poised to hedge their bets on Indiana's Fernando Mendoza, Oregon's Dante Moore or whoever emerges as the best QB in the class.
The Cardinals, meanwhile, could plausibly move on from two-time Pro Bowler Kyler Murray after he once again battled injuries and generally failed to live up to his $46.1 million annual salary.
For all three teams, hiring an offensive-minded coach makes sense. The momentum behind Nagy is a little puzzling, though.
The Chiefs offense isn't performing at the level it did under Bieniemy.
Part of that is due to key figures getting older, and the team has yet to fill the void left by Tyreek Hill in the passing game. Still, it's hard to argue Nagy has gone above after resuming his OC duties.
He didn't distinguish himself when he coached the Bears, either. Chicago won 12 games and claimed an NFC North title in 2018, but that was the high-water mark. Nagy's tenure in the Windy City is remembered mostly for middling offenses and bad quarterback play from Mitchell Trubisky.
Mike McCarthy is another retread who's garnering attention during this hiring cycle. At least he can point to three straight 12-win seasons with the Dallas Cowboys as a reason to justify getting another chance.
Any team that brings Nagy aboard would have to combat a lot of early skepticism from its fanbase.
