Adebayor What A Disgrace!

He's rubbish, he's terrible, he's useless and a diver, these are just some of the words the average Arsenal fan would call Adebayor, and as an Arsenal fan myself, after today, i finally agree. After an incredible 07 08 season for Arsenal netting twenty four goals, he was by far the best striker and one of the most beloved players Arsenal had all until summer 08, AC Milan were in trouble, and were in desperate need for a striker, and they turned to Adebayor. Adebayor considering moving to Milan was not just bad news for Arsenal it was terrible news, without Eduardo who was injured at the time it would have only left Van Persie and Bendtner up front, not knowing what to do the Arsenal fans decided to boo Adebayor of the last few games of the season, and since that moment he was never the same player for Arsenal again. 

Adebayor finally silenced the booing after scoring the winner against Real Madrid in the pre season before the 08 09 season. But it was all down hill from there, after that game he fell out with Bendtner, and finished the 08 09 season with a disappointing ten goals, fourteen goals less then the season before, 

After a terrible season Wenger decided to cash in on the 25 million rated striker by selling him to Manchester City.

Now that Wenger has learned the hard way after the 4-2 smashing by Manchster City today, Wenger must be regretting every second of life without Adebayor the striker he created at Monaco and brought to Arsenal himself.

Adebayor played Unbelievably today silencing all the criticism he had been getting from the Arsenal fans and the news papers, perfect is not a good enough word to describe just how well he played, he played INCREDIBLY, he passed the ball well he scored an amazing header and he did everything a top striker would do, but better, he even came back and defended his own goal keepers post whilst Arsenal took corners.

At Arsenal he was being called the new Pires and Henry, but there's one big difference between Pires, Henry and Adebayor, and that is Pires and Henry would NEVER behave like Adebayor did today. Even though he played so well by scoring a goal and getting the man of the match, that was all shadowed out by his own stupidity.

Robin Van Persie was Adebayor's partner and friend, and together they were a great striking force at Arsenal, and got on well, the difference between Pires, Henry and Adebayor is that they would not intentionally hurt a former teammate, they would not even think about it. For example when Pires nocked Fabergas over at the Emirates Stadium in the champinons league in april the first thing he did was help him up and apologize.

But not Adebayor he intentionally kicked Van Persie in the face centimeters away from his eye, and the real question is why? why would adebayor do that? was he jealous of Van Persie, did they have an argument? know one knows except them.

Van Persie shocked at the malicious blow to his face from Adebayor, said in an interview with Arsenal.com, "I am sad and disappointed by my former team mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me during today's match, We are both professional footballers and i know that the game is physical, i too have made hard and sometimes miss estimated challenges but never with the intention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.

"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

"I do feel lucky that i have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimeters away from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, and there were no words of exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It's bad for the game we all love.

"I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today's match. We do not hide from that disappointment but i need to speak out about his behavior".

What ever is said or done, today was a disgraceful and a terrible way for Adebayor to treat his old team mates or fans. Another difference between Pires, Henry and Adebayor is that Pires said before the Villarieal game against Arsenal that if he scores a goal he will not "celebrate in respect for his old club", and Henry said "if i ever play Arsenal again in my career i will not celebrate in respect to my old fans". Well Henry has not played Arsenal yet but Pires has, and he kept his word even though he did not score he did not celebrate after the game with the rest of his team mates he just shook hands with the Arsenal players and walked off, this is very much unlike Adebayor as he proved and showed his real colours today by running across the whole pitch deliberately to celebrate in front of the Arsenal fans.

In the future when you look back and think of Arsenal legends, Henry and Pires will make the cut, but Adebayor does not have a chance.
