"I'm home," Jericho told fans at the Canada Life Centre.

With the 55-year-old Jericho being off AEW programming for the past 10 months, rumors and speculation ran rampant regarding his potential return to WWE.

Jericho initially had a lengthy run with WWE following a stint with WCW and essentially remained with the former promotion until 2018.

Although Jericho had some breaks in between, he was a WWE guy for nearly two decades before shockingly jumping ship.

Even before the start of AEW, Jericho had dipped his toe into the non-WWE wrestling waters, wrestling multiple matches for New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2018.

However, when he committed to AEW in 2019, it served as a warning shot of sorts with AEW quickly establishing itself as WWE's most significant competition since the closure of WCW.

Jericho was immediately presented as one of AEW's top stars, becoming the inaugural AEW world champion and being consistently featured in major matches and storylines for multiple years.

While he is undoubtedly nearing the end of his illustrious career, Jericho has proved during his time in AEW that he still has plenty to offer.

Before Jericho rides off into retirement, he could have some more matches against younger opponents and relive some notable rivalries as well.

It remains to be seen what the immediate plans are for Jericho and how much longer he will wrestle, but it's clear that he's sticking with AEW.
