Liverpool Transfer News: Adama Traore Deal Sought, Latest Reds Rumours
Liverpool are looking to confirm a deal for Barcelona youngster Adama Traore and have reportedly sent representatives to the Catalan club.
Per Spanish radio station RAC1's Gerard Romero (h/t Metro's Jamie Sanderson), the Reds are looking to take the 19-year-old on loan ahead of a permanent move being established next year.
A previous Manchester United target, Traore is a talented winger who has appeared for the first team but is mainly a Barcelona B player.
The Red Devils have seemingly cooled their interest in the Spaniard, thus leaving the door open for Liverpool to swoop in and snap him up.
Spanish outlet Sport reports that his release clause is €15 million (£10.5 million), which is affordable for Liverpool, especially after their sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City for £49 million.
Indeed, Traore could be the ideal replacement for the departed Sterling given his electric pace, power and directness:
Traore has been eyed by a number of European clubs, namely Sevilla, Sampdoria, Everton, Stoke City and Bayern Munich, per Sport.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has already made significant moves in the transfer market this summer. In attack, he has signed Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke, all of whom will improve Liverpool, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
However, the addition of Traore would be a sound piece of business for the future, as he looks to have all the attributes that could make him a world-class player.
Rodgers would surely relish the opportunity to work with such a talent while he looks to build a team for the future.
