Latest Titans HC Rumors on Chiefs' Nagy, Spagnuolo, Broncos' Joseph and Colts' Anarumo

Doric SamJan 6, 2026

The Tennessee Titans reportedly have identified their first few targets in their search for a new head coach.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Titans submitted an interview request for Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo was also requested. Rapoport later added that Tennessee also requested an interview with Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph as well as former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo is also on the team's list of requests.

The Titans joined the New York Giants as the only teams to make in-season head coaching changes this year, firing Brian Callahan following a 1-5 start. Tennessee finished with a 3-14 record and will have the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Nagy and Spagnuolo previously worked with Tennessee general manager Mike Borgonzi when Borgonzi was a member of the Chiefs' organization.

Nagy has prior head coaching experience with the Chicago Bears, going 34-31 with two playoff appearances in four seasons at the helm. He returned to Kansas City in 2022 and assumed the offensive coordinator role the following year. While head coach Andy Reid retained play-calling duties, he and Nagy helped craft one of the best offenses in the NFL before a down year in 2025.

Spaguoulo, who has a career 11-41 record as a head coach, has led the Chiefs defense since 2019. The team made significant strides under his guidance, and he's been a part of all three of Kansas City's recent Super Bowl title wins.

Joseph was also a former head coach with the Broncos, going 11-21 in two seasons. He rejoined the franchise under head coach Sean Payton in 2023 and presided over one of the top defensive units in the league. This season, Denver finished second in the NFL with 278.2 total yards allowed per game and 18.3 points allowed per game.

Anarumo joined the Colts for the 2025 season and helped make incremental improvements from last year's disappointing finish. He spent the previous six years as the defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Titans will be hoping to find the right person to help end their rebuild and lead the development of 2025 No. 1 pick Cam Ward. It's clear that Tennessee is prepared for an expansive search with multiple candidates before the team makes its decision.
