Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Celebrates Travis Kelce Making NFL History With 13K Yards
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce finished Sunday's 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders with just three catches for 12 yards, but he at least made history in the process.
Kelce became the fastest tight end in NFL history to reach 13,000 receiving yards, which drew a response from the quarterback who helped him rack up plenty of those yards:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He entered Sunday's contest with 12,990 receiving yards, so it seemed like a formality. However, he barely finished with enough yards in the loss in what could be the last game of his NFL career if he decides to retire before the 2026 campaign.
It wasn't the only history at stake, as Kelce got the two catches he needed to move ahead of Terrell Owens for eighth in NFL history. Owens finished his career with 1,078 catches, and Kelce entered play with 1,077.
If this was the tight end's final season, it wasn't exactly one to remember even with Sunday's history.
Kansas City missed the playoffs entirely at 6-11, and Patrick Mahomes was limited to 14 games because of a torn ACL. With Mahomes' health now a concern and retirement looming as a possibility for Kelce, the team's outlook for the 2026 season is also a question mark at this point.
Regardless of whether he plays another season or not, Kelce is a surefire Hall of Famer and one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history.
His resume includes three Super Bowl titles, four First-Team All-Pro nods and 11 Pro Bowl selections to go along with his statistical accomplishments. And he added a couple more of those statistical accomplishments Sunday, further solidifying his status as a legend.
