NFL Black Monday 2026 Rumors for Coaches on Hot Seat and Firing News
At least three NFL head coaching jobs will be filled this offseason.
The Atlanta Falcons joined the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans as teams with job openings on Sunday night.
The Cleveland Browns are reportedly considering to move on from their head coach next.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins are also worth watching as firing season begins.
Falcons Fire Raheem Morris

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Falcons are moving on from Raheem Morris.
Morris was only in charge for two seasons, but the Falcons decided now was the time to move on.
Morris went 8-9 in both of his season in charge of the Falcons. Atlanta ended the regular season on a four-game winning streak, but that was not enough to save his job.
Kevin Stefanski on Hot Seat In Cleveland

NBC Sports' Mike Florio reported earlier this week that "the current vibe in the building is that coach Kevin Stefanski's tenure will end, after Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bengals."
Stefanski has a 45-56 record with the Browns. He led them to two playoff appearances, but the last two years have been tough in Cleveland.
The Browns won a combined eight games in 2024 and 2025 after going 11-6 in 2023.
Quarterback injuries played their role in the struggles, so the shortcomings are not solely on Stefanski as a head coach. There's been a talent gap between them and other teams.
If Stefanski is let go by the Browns, he would be a coveted head-coaching prospect across the NFL because of the job he's done with Cleveland.
Mike McDaniel Closer to Returning in Miami Than Firing

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that "signs continue to point towards (Mike) McDaniel returning for a fifth season."
Miami is already on the hunt for a new general manager, and it could be on the quarterback market depending on what happens after Tua Tagovailoa's late-season benching.
McDaniel guided the Dolphins to winning seasons in each of his first two years in charge, but he's been under .500 the last two seasons.
The Dolphins did finish 7-9 amid plenty of key injuries. If all of the top talent comes back, there's still potential for the Dolphins to contend for a playoff spot in the AFC.
However, the Dolphins have to be confident that McDaniel can lead them back to a winning campaign.
With the New England Patriots re-emergence in 2025, the competition to win the AFC East got stiffer, and if the traditional powers of the conference bounce back in 2026, it will be tough to earn a postseason spot.
Raiders Might Make Another Coaching Change

According to Rapoport and Pelissero, the Raiders could be headed "toward another reset".
They reported that Pete Carroll's status "is very much in doubt" despite him only being in the job for one year.
The opportunity is there for Las Vegas to reset again because it can bring in a new head coach that can choose their quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick.
The Carroll and Geno Smith experiment didn't work in 2025, and if the Raiders want to cut bait on the veteran head coach, the time has to be now so that the No. 1 overall pick doesn't have to experience so much change on a year-to-year basis early in his NFL career.
