Raiders Earn No. 1 Pick

Las Vegas landed the top selection in April's draft before it kicked off against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Raiders put themselves in position to secure the top pick in Week 17 with their loss to the New York Giants. At that point, the Raiders and Giants were the only two-win teams in the league.
The Raiders franchise as a whole has countless questions to answer going into 2026, including who might be their head coach. A quarterback change is likely after Geno Smith's struggles this season.
Indiana's Fernando Mendoza and Oregon's Dante Moore are among the top options the Raiders will look at throughout the draft process.
If the Raiders opt to draft a quarterback at No. 1, that player will come into a better situation than most rookies with Ashton Jeanty and Brock Bowers on the offense.
The addition of a fresh young quarterback and a new No. 1 wide receiver, either through the draft or free agency, could kickstart the Raiders' rebuild
Jets End Up With No. 2 Pick

The Jets' brutal season resulted in the No. 2 overall pick.
New York's blowout loss in Buffalo combined with the Giants' win over the Cowboys allowed the Jets to move up to No. 2, an ideal spot to land a quarterback.
The Justin Fields experiment failed, so it makes perfect sense for the Jets to go after Mendoza and Moore. Because of the Jets and Raiders' needs, quarterbacks could be the top two picks.
Bleacher Report's NFL scouting department ranked Mendoza as the top quarterback in the 2026 draft class and 10 spots ahead of Moore on its most-recent overall ranking.
The Jets and the Raiders should have an intense focus on the Peach Bowl on Friday with Moore facing Mendoza with a spot in the national championship on the line.
New York's offense isn't completely broken since it has a few nice pieces already on the roster, but like Las Vegas, it needs a quarterback to put everything together and make the team more competitive in 2026 and beyond.
