Colts' Alec Pierce Ejected for Contacting NFL Ref on Video After Arguing Penalty

Pierce appeared to apologize to the referee he was arguing with as he left the field:
Pierce had been in the midst of a dominant performance before his ejection, leading the Colts with four catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns. It was his second 100-yard game of the season and his first time reaching the mark since Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pierce will finish the 2025 season with career highs of 47 catches and 1,003 yards for his first career 1,000-yard season while adding six touchdowns. The 25-year-old is set to become a free agent this offseason, and he could cash in with a major payday after his excellent year.
The Colts entered Sunday's regular-season finale riding a six-game losing streak. Indianapolis had Super Bowl aspirations earlier in the year, but things fell apart when quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles. To make matters worse, the team traded away two first-round picks to the New York Jets in an all-in move to acquire star cornerback Sauce Gardner.
Indianapolis will have a lot of work to do this offseason, especially if the team hopes to avoid losing Pierce to the open market. For now, it looks like his tenure with the Colts could be coming to an end on a sour note.
