Baker Mayfield's Wife Emily Posts Video of Bucs QB 'Stressed' Watching Saints-Falcons
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered Sunday needing the New Orleans Saints to beat the Atlanta Falcons to win the NFC South and make the playoffs.
Naturally, Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield was stressed out watching the game at home.
Emily Mayfield, Baker's wife, posted video on her Instagram story of the nine-year veteran going through some emotions.
"Watching Baker watch football as a 'fan' is hilarious...haven't seen him this stressed in a minute," Emily wrote.
She then posted a picture of Baker sitting alone on the kitchen counter, seemingly still going through it as the game continued.
The Buccaneers defeated the Carolina Panthers 16-14 at home on Saturday to go 8-9 on the season and temporarily remain alive for the playoffs. Carolina is also 8-9, but Tampa Bay holds a two-team tiebreaker edge by virtue of the common opponents tiebreaker.
A New Orleans win meant the Saints and Falcons would both finish at 7-10 in the bottom half of the division, leaving the Bucs alone to make the playoffs.
However, that did not happen. The Falcons held on for a 19-17 victory, putting them at 8-9 for a three-team tiebreaker.
That push the Panthers into the playoffs as the NFC's No. 4 seed via the head-to-head tiebreaker (Carolina 3-1, Tampa Bay 2-2, Atlanta 1-3).
