Will Campbell, Milton Williams' Injury Status Updated by Patriots' Vrabel Ahead of W18
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel provided a positive injury update on a pair of key players heading into a Week 18 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.
Vrabel told reporters Friday that it "looks good" for rookie left tackle Will Campbell and defensive tackle Milton Williams to be activated off injured reserve before Sunday's game against Miami.
Campbell hasn't played since Week 12 due to an MCL sprain, while Williams has missed New England's past five games with an ankle injury.
Campbell returned to practice as a full participant on Wednesday and his status remained the same during Thursday's session.
The No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft immediately established himself as a starter on New England's offensive line, appearing in each of the team's first 12 games of the year.
Campbell showed steady improvement as his inaugural season progressed prior to the injury. He's allowed 25 pressures and five sacks throughout 452 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
As for Williams, he's been a limited participant in practice since Dec. 24 after being placed on injured reserve in mid-November.
The 26-year-old is in the midst of his first season with New England after opening his career as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles from 2021-24.
Williams has been a key piece of the Patriots' front seven this year, recording 27 tackles, eight quarterback hits, seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and one pass defended.
While New England has already punched its ticket to the playoffs and secured the AFC East crown, Vrabel's squad can still improve its postseason positioning in the final game of the regular season.
The Patriots can clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC to go along with a first-round bye if they're able to defeat the Dolphins while the Denver Broncos simultaneously lose to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Kickoff between Miami and New England on Sunday is at 4:25 p.m. ET.
