How AEW Can Exploit WWE Cold Streak 😈
Dominik Mysterio reportedly isn't expected to miss much time after recently suffering a shoulder injury during a match for AAA.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), the injury does not require surgery and WWE expects Mysterio to return in three to four weeks.
Dirty Dom was injured at AAA Guerra de Titanes on Dec. 20 when he teamed with El Grande Americano against Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix.
Dominik had been scheduled to wrestle at a WWE live event in Baltimore on Dec. 26, but he did not appear, and he was also absent from Monday night's episode of Raw.
During the show, Liv Morgan indicated that Mysterio was injured, and the announce team confirmed he would be out "indefinitely."
In a follow-up, BodySlam.net (h/t Upton) reported that Dominik was in "good spirits," and WWE was "just being cautious with him."
A return timeline of three to four weeks is ideal since Royal Rumble is set for Jan. 31 in Saudi Arabia.
Dominik is one of WWE's top heels and biggest stars, so there is little doubt that WWE wants him in the fold for the men's Royal Rumble match. If the timetable holds true, Mysterio should be back just in the nick of time.
WWE Reportedly Considering Vaquer vs. Morgan Feud
WWE has reportedly had creative talks about women's world champion Stephanie Vaquer facing multiple high-profile opponents in the future.
According to BodySlam.net (h/t WrestlePurists), WWE officials have had discussions about a Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan feud "some time down the road," although it isn't considered imminent.
WWE reportedly also believes it would be beneficial for Vaquer to have rivalries with Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley at some point.
Vaquer signed with WWE last year and quickly established herself as the class of the NXT women's division, winning the NXT Women's Championship and NXT Women's North American Championship.
La Primera was officially called up to the main roster in May, and after winning a No. 1 contender's battle royal at Evolution, she went on to beat Iyo Sky for the vacant women's world title at Wrestlepalooza in September.
Few Superstars in WWE history had a better first year in the company than Vaquer, which speaks to how highly WWE's leading decision-makers think of her.
Morgan, Lynch and Ripley all feel like viable opponents for Vaquer at WrestleMania 42, assuming the Chilean Superstar is still women's world champ by that point.
Since Vaquer is a popular babyface, Morgan and Lynch stand out as the best immediate options since they are heels, meaning either of them could be candidates to win the women's Royal Rumble and challenge Vaquer on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Reported Future of NXT PLEs on Peacock
When the calendar turned to 2026, the vast majority of WWE's content was removed from the Peacock streaming service, although Peacock is still the home of NXT premium live events for now.
According to Meltzer (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), NXT PLEs will remain on Peacock until March, but it is "up in the air" what will happen with them after that.
Peacock was long the streaming home for WWE PLEs and the WWE content library, however, WWE reached a deal with ESPN to carry main roster PLEs, which began back in September.
If Peacock does indeed stop streaming NXT PLEs after March, WWE has at least a couple of viable options as replacements.
The ESPN Unlimited streaming service perhaps makes the most sense due to the fact that main roster PLEs are already on the platform.
Netflix is another possibility since it is the weekly home of Monday Night Raw, and WWE also uploaded many of its past premium live events onto Netflix after the Peacock deal expired.
Things appear to be in flux right now, but with so many big-name partners, WWE shouldn't have much of an issue finding a platform for NXT PLEs when needed.
