Micah Parsons Reacts to Trevon Diggs Reunion on Packers After CB's Cowboys Release

Adam WellsDec 31, 2025

Micah Parsons is celebrating a reunion with Trevon Diggs after the Green Bay Packers added the veteran cornerback to their roster.

After ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Packers claimed Diggs on waivers, Parsons had this to say in a post on X:

The move came one day after the Dallas Cowboys announced Diggs had been waived. He was in the third season of a five-year, $97 million extension signed in the summer of 2023.

Parsons and Diggs spent four seasons together as teammates in Dallas from 2021 to '24. They were drafted in back-to-back years, with Diggs being a second-round pick in 2020 and Parsons being taken No. 12 overall the following year.

Having both of them as key cogs on the defense resulted in a strong run of success for the organization. The Cowboys won 12 games in three consecutive years from 2021 to '23, finishing in the top seven in points allowed per game all three years.

Diggs and Parsons made the All-Pro first team in 2021. They became the first Cowboys defensive players named to the first-team squad since DeMarcus Ware in 2011.

Dallas went through a very public split with Parsons in the offseason over a contract dispute. He was traded to the Packers on Aug. 28 and signed a four-year, $188 million extension with the club.

Diggs' breakout year in 2021 saw him record an NFL-high 11 interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. He has just six picks in 38 games since that season and appeared in just eight games for the Cowboys in 2025.

Cornerback depth is an issue for the Packers heading into the postseason. Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Wednesday that Nate Hobbs is unlikely to return this season due to a knee injury. Kamal Hadden suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Saturday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Jaylin Simpson and Shemar Bartholomew were signed to the active roster from the practice squad on Tuesday.

It's unclear if Diggs, who played for the Cowboys in their Christmas Day win over the Washington Commanders, will be ready to suit up on Sunday for the regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Packers are locked in to the No. 7 seed in the NFC, so they will presumably play things safe with their starters in Week 18. They will play either the Chicago Bears or Philadelphia Eagles in the wild-card round.
