How Many Yards Does Bijan Robinson Need to Break Chris Johnson's NFL Scrimmage Record?
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson secured a pair of records in Monday night's 27-24 win over the Los Angeles Rams, and he may not be done this year.
The 2025 Pro Bowler is leading the NFL with 2,255 yards from scrimmage. That puts him 255 yards away from breaking Chris Johnson's single-season record with one game to play.
Robinson was unstoppable in Week 17. He had 195 yards on the ground and 34 receiving yards while finding the end zone twice.
Overtaking Johnson would require even more than that and more than Robinson has ever done in an NFL game. He has never totaled more than 238 yards from scrimmage, which he pulled off in a Week 6 win over the Buffalo Bills.
On paper, the New Orleans Saints aren't a favorable matchup. They're allowing 305.5 yards per game heading into their finale.
The Falcons have been eliminated from the playoffs, and they'll finish with a losing record regardless of the outcome Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Robinson's pursuit of history is one of the few storylines in a game of little consequence otherwise.
Maybe that will entice head coach Raheem Morris to put the ball into the hands of his best player as much as reasonably possible.
