Cowboys' Jerry Jones Discusses Approach to Upcoming George Pickens Contract Talks
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has made it clear that he hopes to re-sign soon-to-be free agent George Pickens, but he could be dealing with a familiar face while he tries to retain the star receiver.
During Jones' weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, he was asked if he plans to hold contract negotiations with Pickens directly or with his agent, David Mulugheta, and he responded, "I don't know. We'll see how it goes. Probably both."

Of course, Jones and Mulugheta have faced one another at the negotiating table in the past, as Mulugheta represents former Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers over the offseason. Jones infamously blamed Mulugheta for Dallas' failed contract discussions with Parsons.
"When we wanted to send the details to the agent, the agent told us to stick it up our ass," Jones said in August. "Just so you're clear."
Pickens excelled in his first year with the Cowboys following an offseason trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, earning his first career Pro Bowl selection. The 24-year-old currently ranks third in the NFL with 1,420 receiving yards.
It will likely take a major offer to retain Pickens following his career year, and it will be interesting to see if Jones and Mulugheta can put their past disagreements behind them when they meet this offseason.
