Fantasy Football Managers React to Heartbreaking Defeats in 2025 Championship Round
Most fantasy football championships were decided in Week 17 of the 2025 NFL regular season, and many of them came down to Monday night's game between the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons, leading to no shortage of heartbreak and devastation.
Monday's game was highly relevant from a fantasy perspective with Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams and wide receiver Puka Nacua, and Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts all being potential options for fantasy managers in their championship matchups.

Most of them delivered modest production by their standards, but Robinson was the exception, as he exploded for 195 yards and one touchdown on the ground, plus five receptions for 34 yards and another score in Atlanta's 27-24 win.
With Robinson approaching and even eclipsing 40 fantasy points in some scoring formats, he led many fantasy managers to dramatic championship wins, and left the losing managers to lament their bad luck in social media posts:
Aside from Robinson's all-time performance, there were also many cases of other players such as Stafford, Williams and Nacua doing either just enough or not quite enough to lift their fantasy managers to titles:
One manager even posted a screenshot of a tie in their fantasy championship, leaving readers and commenters to wonder what tie-breaking procedures their league employs:
Week 17 of the 2025 season may ultimately go down as one of the wildest conclusions to a fantasy football season of all time.
In addition to Robinson's masterclass on Monday Night Football, the Sunday Night Football game between the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears likely determined many championships as well.
The Niners and Bears combined to score 80 points, and there were several big-time fantasy contributors on both teams, including 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, who finished with 303 passing yards, 28 rushing yards, five total touchdowns and one interception.
Fantasy football truly came down to the wire this season, which is perhaps a fitting end given the unpredictability and parity that underscored the 2025 NFL campaign.
