Cardinals' Jonathan Gannon Discusses Job Security Amid Hot-Seat Rumors
Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon isn't worried about his job heading into the season finale against the Los Angeles Rams.
When asked on Monday whether he thinks he'll still be the head coach of the Cardinals this time next week, he said, "Yeah," per ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.
While Gannon said he didn't want to "get into" the specifics between him and the front office, he said, "I feel good," when asked about his job security.
It's fair to wonder whether Gannon's time with the Cardinals could come to an end after three years at the helm. While he showed some progress in Year 2 in 2024, Arizona has regressed in his third season, sitting at 3-13 heading into the final game.
A loss would mean Arizona's first season with 14 or more losses in franchise history.
While the Cardinals have long been eliminated from the postseason, Gannon said he hasn't let his focus shift to the offseason just yet.
"I kind of do the same process as I've done the last two years: I try to take detailed notes, try to have a pulse of what's going on, but you can't let that ... I do have to think about the future a little bit, obviously the seat that I'm in, but my focus is really on L.A. and that there'll be a time to look at all of that and have those conversations and make changes," Gannon said. "No one's happy. I'm not happy. Players aren't happy. Through adversity, you've got to change. So, I got to change, and we got to change some things, but we'll get to that."
Gannon appears comfortable about his job security heading into the offseason, more struggles in 2026 would almost certainly put him on the hot seat, if he's not there already.
