Parsons suffered the injury during a 34-26 loss against the Denver Broncos on Dec. 14, costing the Green Bay Packers their most impactful defensive player in the process.

As ESPN's Bill Barnwell noted. "Not having their star pass rusher in the lineup—in the weeks since his departure as well as earlier in the season, when the Packers were using him in a part-time role—has been a massive issue for Jeff Hafley's unit. The Packers are 30th in EPA per play allowed without Parsons on the field across 328 snaps this season, down from 15th with him."

More importantly, the Packers have lost two games in a row without him and three in total, costing them a chance at an NFC North title. At 9-6-1, the Packers are guaranteed to be the No. 7 seed in the NFC regardless of the result in Week 18 against the Minnesota Vikings.

That likely will mean a third matchup against the Chicago Bears this season in the NFC Wild Card Round, though it could mean a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles depending on Week 18's results.

Parsons, 26, led the Packers with 12.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss this season, adding 41 tackles, two forced fumbles and a pass defensed across 14 games. It was easy enough to see why the Packers gave up a pair of first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark to acquire him and promptly signed him to a four-year, $188 million extension.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, rank last in the NFL in both points allowed (29.8 PPG) and pass defense (253.6 YPG) without him and are tied for 23rd in sacks (31).

We may not see Parsons back in action to start the 2026 season, with a lengthy rehabilitation ahead of him given his ACL tear. The Packers will be hoping he's able to return as one of the game's elite pass-rushers once he is cleared to play.
