Lamar Jackson Trade, Luka Doncic Comp, Malik Willis Contract Pitched by NFL Agent

The Baltimore Ravens will have the chance to play for the AFC North title in Week 18, but there are some around the NFL who already feel that it's time for them to cut ties with star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The Athletic's Mike Sando spoke to an NFL agent who suggested that the Ravens' best course could be to trade Jackson and sign impending free-agent quarterback Malik Willis.

"Get Malik for $15 million a year, trade Lamar, get your three 1s and a player, and now you can justify it, thinking we have a similar style quarterback who is not as good but is younger with way fewer miles," the agent said.

Willis potentially auditioned for the Ravens when he started Saturday's game for the Green Bay Packers in place of the injured Jordan Love (concussion) and produced three touchdowns in a 41-24 loss.

The agent went on to point to one of the most shocking trades in NBA history as a precedent for the Ravens potentially trading Jackson.

"Lamar being traded could be similar to the (Dallas) Mavericks trading Luka Dončić," the agent said. "The Mavericks were complaining about Luka's toughness, taking care of his body, work ethic. Luka gets moved, he loses all that weight, he gets in great shape and he's got a new lease on life. Lamar might be the same."

Jackson has been in and out of Baltimore's lineup while dealing with injuries throughout this season. He sat out the team's win over the Packers due to a back injury, but he's reportedly on track to return in Week 18 against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a spot in the postseason on the line.

If the Ravens fall short of the playoffs, they could explore their options for moving the two-time NFL MVP. It's safe to say that trading Jackson would be one of the biggest blockbuster trades in NFL history.

"If Lamar were to be put on the block even quietly, and you are a team that is not established at quarterback, do whatever it takes," the agent added.
