Rodgers, Steelers Criticized by Fans in Loss to Shedeur, Browns Amid NFL Playoff Race

Taylyn Hadley Dec 28, 2025

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers dropped a potential playoff- and AFC North-clinching game Sunday, falling 13-6 on the road to Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns.

The loss dropped Pittsburgh to 9-7 and kept the door open for the Baltimore Ravens to claim the AFC North. The Steelers and Ravens will meet next week with the division title on the line.

Rodgers threw for 168 yards while completing 21-of-39 passes and did not throw a touchdown in the loss.

Sanders finished with 186 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while completing 17-of-23 passes for Cleveland.

Fans reacted to the Steelers' loss to the already eliminated Browns, who earned just their fourth win of the season with the victory.

In a lackluster offensive showing, the Browns led the Steelers 10-6 at halftime, with neither team scoring in the second half until Cleveland added an insurance field goal in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Steelers were without their leading receiver, DK Metcalf, who was suspended for the final two games of the season after violating the league's policy following an altercation with a fan during last Sunday's game against Detroit.

Pittsburgh will need to regroup as it faces the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18 with a playoff spot and the AFC North title on the line.
