AEW Champ MJF Reacts to John Cena's WWE Retirement, Never Having Dream Match on Video
AEW Superstar MJF is one of the top young wrestlers of his generation, but he admitted that he's not happy with one thing that will escape him for the rest of his career.
During an appearance on Mostly Sports (16:52 mark), MJF was asked by host Brandon Walker if he's bothered by knowing he'll never have a dream match against WWE legend John Cena, who retired from his iconic in-ring career earlier this month.
"Yes, absolutely," MJF responded. "I think that there is a different world where that match would have happened. Unfortunately, it's not this one."

MJF went on to detail some of his past interactions with Cena, and he reiterated that the 17-time World Champion was his original favorite wrestler as a child.
"I've had so many incredible run-ins with John where we've shot the s--t. He's an incredible guy. He watches our product. He's seen my stuff. He was very complimentary. Obviously, I'm super complimentary to him," MJF said. "I've said it before in other interviews, but before CM Punk, my favorite wrestler growing up as a kid was John Cena, he was a Fathead on my wall in my bedroom. So I'd wake up, salute the OG, and then get ready for school."
MJF recently returned from a hiatus and won the Fatal-4-Way main event of Saturday's World's End pay-per-view to become the AEW World Champion for the second time in his career. Perhaps the 29-year-old can follow Cena's footsteps and become the face of the company for AEW before he hangs up his wrestling boots.
