Updated Maxx Crosby Trade Buzz from NFL Insider After Raiders' IR Decision

Amid reports of his unhappiness with the Las Vegas Raiders' decision to place him on injured reserve, star defensive end Maxx Crosby's future with the franchise is now in question.

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported on Sunday that while Crosby initially made it clear that he didn't want to part ways with the Raiders, "I don't know if that's still the case. I still think there's some massaging that has to happen."

Raiders head coach Pete Carroll confirmed on Friday that Crosby left the team facility after being informed that he was ruled out for Sunday's game against the New York Giants due to a knee injury.

"He knows that he's banged up, so he's talking about, 'I'd like to get out of here.' And I said, 'Yeah, get out of here.' So he took off," Carroll told reporters. "… This didn't just spring on him. We've been talking about it, and it was exactly what you would think he would do and he should do. I agree with him 1,000 percent on how he responded, and I [would have] responded the same way."

Glazer noted that after the news broke of Crosby's departure from the Las Vegas facility, "about 20 teams" contacted him on Friday alone to gauge whether the Raiders would be interested in trading him.

ESPN's Adam Schefter later reported that Crosby "is expected to need knee surgery that would sideline him into the offseason." Still, he's one of the premier edge rushers in the NFL, so he would command a significant return if the Raiders decide to deal him away.

The Raiders and Giants are both 2-13, so a loss can solidify the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft. It's clear that Las Vegas is building for the future, so it could be worth it to consider trading Crosby.
