Derrick Henry's Dominance Wows NFL Fans As Ravens Beat Packers, Preserve Playoff Hopes
Derrick Henry led the Baltimore Ravens to a 41-24 win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday despite the absence of Lamar Jackson, keeping Baltimore alive in the AFC North race.
Tyler Huntley, making the start in place of Jackson who was sidelined with a back injury, threw for 107 yards and one touchdown while completing 16-of-20 passes. He connected with Zay Flowers for a touchdown and 30 yards. Henry powered the offense with four rushing touchdowns on a career-high of 36 carries and 216 yards on the ground.
With the win, the Ravens improved to 8-8 and remained in contention in the division, trailing the 9-6 Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh would need to lose its next two games — against Cleveland and Baltimore — for the Ravens to have a chance at the AFC North title.
A division crown remains Baltimore's only path to the playoffs, as it sits outside the AFC wild-card picture.
The Green Bay Packers entered the matchup having already clinched a playoff spot. Despite the loss, Green Bay remained in the seventh wild-card position at 9-6-1.
Malik Willis, starting in place of Jordan Love, who was sidelined with a concussion, finished with 288 yards and one touchdown while completing 18-of-21 passes.
Henry's standout performance impressed fans as he paved the way for the Ravens' playoff hopes to remain alive.
Baltimore carried a 27-14 lead into halftime before Green Bay trimmed the deficit to three points by the end of the third quarter.
The Ravens put the game away in the fourth, adding two scoring drives and forcing an interception to secure a commanding 17-point victory and keep their postseason hopes alive.
Baltimore will close the regular season on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
