Joe Burrow Gifts Bengals OL Authentic Dinosaur, Bear, Mammoth Fossils for Christmas
Some quarterbacks gift their offensive line watches or golf carts. Joe Burrow took a more unique route.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback gifted his offensive line authentic dinosaur, bear and mammoth fossils, according to ESPN's Ben Baby. Burrow previously said on Netflix's Quarterback that fossils are always on his mind.
Burrow's teammates said that his fossil gift says a lot about their quarterback.
"I think it speaks to his intelligence and interests and his desire to do something unique," Bengals center Ted Karras told Baby. "I thought it was really special."
Offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. called Burrow "special."
"It says a lot about who he is—his personality, his heart, all of those things, man," Brown said. "He's just a special person."
Burrow has established himself as one of the most unique gift-givers in the NFL over the past few years. Last year, he gifted his offensive line authentic Japanese Katana swords, each one being unique to the player it was given to.
After giving out fossils this year, it will be interesting to see what Burrow comes up with next year.
This season hasn't gone the way the Bengals, and specifically Burrow, would have hoped. He's recorded 1,268 yards, 12 touchdowns and four interceptions while playing just six games because of a turf toe injury that cost him most of the season.
While Cincinnati has already been eliminated from the postseason, Burrow, who recently discussed trying to have fun while playing football, had his best game of the season last week. He threw for 309 yards and four touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins, saying afterward that he is "having fun playing football."
