Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, NFL Injury Statuses and Fantasy Impact for Week 17

Joe TanseyDec 26, 2025

Lamar Jackson likely will not be on the field with the Baltimore Ravens' season on the line in Week 17.

Jackson is listed as doubtful for Saturday's clash with the Green Bay Packers.

The news on Jackson is concerning, but there is some good news for fantasy football players regarding Josh Allen.

Lamar Jackson Listed as Doubtful

Lamar Jackson's status for Week 17 isn't great.

The Baltimore quarterback is doubtful with a back issue that he picked up in Week 16 against the New England Patriots.

Baltimore will likely go with Tyler Huntley in Green Bay on Saturday. Huntley completed nine of his 10 passes for 65 yards in relief of Jackson against New England.

Huntley is a more than capable backup, but he is a fantasy downgrade compared to Jackson. That devalues the pieces in the Baltimore offense in the week of most fantasy football championships.

Huntley spread the ball around to DeAndre Hopkins, Zay Flowers, Mark Andrews and others in Week 16, so there's no distinct beneficiary to his presence in the Baltimore pocket.

Huntley's Week 17 counterpart, Malik Willis, might be a solid waiver-wire pickup in place of Jackson on fantasy football rosters. Willis proved multiple times that he has a strong handle on the Green Bay offense. He produced 121 passing yards and 44 rushing yards in Week 16.

New Orleans' Tyler Shough, who takes on Tennessee, and Jacoby Brissett against Cincinnati's brutal defense are worth looks on the waiver wire as well if you need a quarterback to replace Jackson.

Josh Allen Will Play in Week 17

Josh Allen will be on the field for the Buffalo Bills' clash with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Allen has been dealing with a foot injury, but he was a full participant in Friday's practice. He was limited on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Allen has the potential to have a strong day with both his arm and legs on Sunday. Philadelphia gives up the seventh-most rushing yards and rushing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks.

Justin Herbert gashed the Eagles for 66 rushing yards in Week 14, the latest example of a quarterback running well against the NFC East champion.

Allen ran for over 30 yards in five of the last seven games and ran for five touchdowns in that span.

As always, Allen is a must-start player in fantasy when healthy, and if he runs well, he could be one of the top scorers at his position in Week 17.
