Latest News on Jourdan Lewis' Timeline to Return to Jaguars amid Foot Injury
On the brink of clinching the AFC South, the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to be without a key member of their secondary for the remainder of the season.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, cornerback Jourdan Lewis will undergo season-ending foot surgery due to an injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos.
Lewis told reporters after the win over Denver that his foot got stepped on. He played a total of 46 snaps in the game, with 45 coming on defense, recording four total tackles and one pass defensed.

This marks the second significant injury for Lewis this season. He previously missed three games due to a neck injury suffered in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders while trying to tackle Ashton Jeanty.
After the Jaguars' first practice of the week on Wednesday, Lewis was listed as a DNP on the official injury report. Greg Newsome II, who has started nine games, also sat out the practice due to a shoulder injury and personal reasons.
The Jaguars' secondary is thinning out in a hurry heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, especially if Newsome has to miss time. Montaric Brown will likely take over as the primary slot cornerback in Lewis' absence.
Brown has started 10 of the 13 games he has played this season. The Arkansas alum is tied for the team lead with 10 passes defensed.
Lewis signed a three-year, $30 million contract with Jacksonville in free agency after spending the first eight years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys. He has 10 passes defensed and two interceptions in 12 games.
The Jaguars have already clinched a postseason berth for the first time since 2022. They can win the AFC South this weekend with a win over the Indianapolis Colts and a loss or tie by the Houston Texans against the Los Angeles Chargers.
