Christian Benteke Injury: Updates on Liverpool Star's Thigh and Return
Liverpool’s powerhouse centre-forward Christian Benteke was considered a doubt for the club's upcoming clash against bitter rival Manchester United because of a thigh injury picked up against West Ham, but he was able to return to the starting lineup, according to the team's Twitter account.
The knock originally came as a blow to Liverpool, who spent £32.5 million to bring the striker to Anfield from Aston Villa this summer, per BBC Sport.
Benteke is a player who has added something different to the Liverpool lineup and after a promising, if unspectacular, start to life in the iconic all-red jersey, the forward will now have to cope with a potential fitness setback.

Liverpool have plenty of cover in forward options. Danny Ings and Divock Origi are players capable of leading the line, while Roberto Firmino, although not an orthodox striker, can also fill a void if need be.
Thankfully, Benteke was able to return in time for the clash, as none of the aforementioned talents provide a physical presence comparable to that of Benteke. For an attack that looked a little one-dimensional at times during the 2014-15 season, that’ll be a concern for manager Brendan Rodgers should Benteke ever miss game action.
