5-Star SG Jerzy Robinson Reveals WCBB Commitment Between South Carolina, UConn, More

South Carolina is adding one of the nation's top women's basketball prospects in 2026.

Five-star shooting guard Jerzy Robinson announced her commitment to the Gamecocks in a Tuesday appearance on ESPN's NBA Today.

Robinson is the No. 1 shooting guard and No. 3 prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports composite rankings.

The 6-foot-0 guard out of Sierra Canyon had also visited UConn and LSU prior to her commitment.

Three-time WNBA champion and former South Carolina star A'ja Wilson congratulated Robinson on joining the program in a video shared by ESPN.

"Welcome to the Gamecock family," Wilson said in the video. "You made the best choice. There's no place like Columbia."

Wilson continued, "Before you know it, I'll be seeing you in the big leagues. You ready? I know you are."

Robinson became one of the first high school athletes to sign an NIL deal with Nike when she inked a contract with the brand last December. South Carolina, meanwhile, switched to Nike as part of a 10-year deal last August.

The guard recently had a delayed start to her high school senior season while recovering from a leg injury, per ESPN's Charlotte Gibson. She had averaged 27 points and 10.2 rebounds as a junior.

Robinson rose to national prominence while spending the last three years starring for Team USA in FIBA competition. After being named MVP of both her U16 and U17 championship runs, Robinson averaged 7.7 points and four rebounds for the U19 World Cup team in 2025.

South Carolina coach Dawn Staley has already received commitments from two four-star 2026 prospects in center Kelsi Andrews and forward Kaeli Wynn, both of whom are listed as consensus top-40 prospects in the nation by 247Sports.

Staley will now hope that bringing in Robinson alongside Andrews and Wynn will hope South Carolina, which is coming off two straight trips to the national final, remain competitive next season even if star guard Ta'Niya Latson declares for the 2026 WNBA draft.
