Dupri and Lynch have been embroiled in a rivalry for months. In October, Dupri scored victories over Lynch via count-out and disqualification to eventually earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship on the Nov. 17 episode of Raw.
Thanks to a distraction by Lynch's rival AJ Lee, Dupri was able to notch a surprise win over Lynch for her first career championship in WWE.
Still, that didn't stop Lynch from trying to get her title back. She confronted Dupri in the ring on the Dec. 21 episode of Raw, only to get embarrassed in front of the live audience when she was forced to tap out to Dupri's ankle lock.
Lynch is one of the top women's wrestlers of her generation, and she's done outstanding work as the No. 1 heel in the women's division in recent years. Winning back the title once again solidifies her as one of the faces of the company.
Dupri appeared to be a Superstar on the rise and a potential future cornerstone of the women's division, so Monday's loss is a bit of a setback.
Still, Dupri has a strong case for a rematch against Lynch if she wants to continue pursuing the Intercontinental Championship, so there's a chance that their rivalry will continue for a bit longer.
