Aaron Glenn Sends Message to Jets Fans, 'We Know Exactly What We're Doing' amid Losses

New York Jets first-year head coach Aaron Glenn understands that fans are frustrated with yet another disastrous season, but he provided a message of reassurance.

"For the fans, listen, it's going to be a tough road. We knew that, but, man, the thing is, we know exactly what we're doing," Glenn told reporters in a video call on Monday, per ESPN's Rich Cimini. "We have a plan. Just don't let go of the rope, I would say that."

The Jets fell to 3-12 this season with Sunday's 29-6 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Cimini pointed out that New York has lost its last three games by a combined score of 111-36 and is now the first team in NFL history to fail to record an interception through 15 straight games.

Still, Glenn maintained his insistence that the Jets are moving in the right direction as they try to rebuild the culture and establish a new identity.

"From Day 1, we've been trying to set the foundation of what we want this team to be," he said. "A lot of that is from an in-house perspective, for the most part."

Glenn was a popular hire, as he spent the majority of his playing career with the Jets and made it no secret that he wanted the job. However, New York's regression from last season's 5-12 finish has soured a portion of the fan base that was hoping to see improvements this year.

Despite the constant losing, Glenn has done his best to remain confident that the Jets are still building toward a bright future. The team will face the rival New England Patriots (12-3) on Sunday in its final home game of the season.

"We plan on going out there and playing our best and giving effort," he said. "We plan on going out there and winning the game also, all right? We do. We want to go out there and put on a good show for our fans. We know it's our last home game. We look forward to it. We know it's a really, really good opponent so there's nothing better than us going out there and probably spoiling what they're trying to accomplish as a team and making sure our last game is a game our fans can remember."
