Philip Rivers 'Is the Definition of Juice,' Says Jonathan Taylor After Return to Colts
Both Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor and head coach Shane Steichen feel Philip Rivers has provided their team with "juice" by coming out of retirement to join them for the last four games of the 2025 NFL season.
In fact, Taylor has described 44-year-old Rivers as "the definition of juice," per ESPN's Ryan Hockensmith.
That isn't the first time Taylor has used that word to describe Rivers' impact on his team. He told reporters shortly after Rivers signed with the Colts following almost five years away from professional football that "Phil's going to bring that juice, that energy, that vibe."

"Just from an energy, a vibe, a juice standpoint, I think it was really good," Taylor said about Rivers' first day with the team.
Steichen meanwhile said after Rivers signed with the Colts earlier this month, in the wake of Daniel Jones' season-ending Achilles injury and ahead of a Week 15 matchup at the Seattle Seahawks, that he was looking to "get some juice going this week."
Rivers went on to keep the Colts competitive against the Seahawks, going 18-for-27 with 120 passing yards, a touchdown and an interception. He handed off the ball 25 times to Taylor, who recorded 87 rushing yards in the 18-16 loss.
The Colts still have a shot at the playoffs ahead of their Week 16 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, although that would require winning out their final three games of the season.
That could hinge on Taylor's ability to help Rivers secure his first NFL win since Jan. 3, 2021 following Monday night's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff against the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
