'Not Going to Let You Guys S--t on Our Parade,' Broncos' Singleton Reacts to Jags Loss

Joseph ZuckerDec 22, 2025

Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton didn't want to dwell too much on Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"We just got to get out of our own way, guys know what to do and we just got to do it," the team captain said, per ESPN's Jeff Legwold. "... We just need to communicate ... we missed a lot of tackles, making those tackles, things like that. [But] we're a 12-win [team], [so] I'm not going to let you guys s--t on our parade. We've got two games to go and be the No. 1 seed in the AFC."

Jacksonville snapped Denver's 11-game winning streak and did so in emphatic fashion. Trevor Lawrence threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns against one of the NFL's best defenses.

As frustrating as the loss was for the Broncos, they finished with nearly 100 more total yards (445) than the Jags, and they were guilty of self-inflicted errors that can be easily fixed.

Veteran cornerback Pat Surtain II told reporters that "we shot ourselves in the foot too many times," while head coach Sean Payton echoed Singleton in pointing out all of the missed tackles.

Even with the result, Denver maintains the head-to-head tiebreaker on the New England Patriots for the AFC's No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

The Broncos have a winnable game against the Kansas City Chiefs, who are without star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, in Week 17 before closing the regular season with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Denver's outlook remains bright with the playoffs looming on the horizon.
