TreVeyon Henderson Injured, Latest Update on Patriots RB After Exiting vs. Ravens

Timothy RappDec 21, 2025

The New England Patriots ruled out running back TreVeyon Henderson for the remainder of Sunday night's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens after he suffered a head injury in the first half.

Henderson rushed five times for three yards and caught one pass for nine yards before suffering the injury.

The 23-year-old got off to a slow start this season, failing to rush for over 35 yards in his first seven games and just one touchdown in his first nine games while stuck in a timeshare with Rhamondre Stevenson.

But he had seven touchdowns in his last five games entering Sunday, emerging as New England's most dangerous big-play threat.

In total, he's rushed for 776 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 35 passes for 221 yards and another score this season, putting together a solid rookie season. But his ability to turn any play into a long scoring play has changed New England's offense for the better.

"There's a lot of things that go into [explosive] plays," head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters this week. "Probably having done some research, I would say about 30 percent of them are scheme where you're like, 'Oh, that's a good scheme.' And then the other 70 percent are guys making plays, guys blocking, guys breaking tackles, somebody getting a huge block. Any time that there's those [explosive] play runs, guys are going to block at the second and third level to spring them. So, I would say it's a combination of all those. Certainly a credit to TreVeyon and everybody else that's blocked for him. Whether that's just him last week taking advantage of an open edge and bouncing it back, we didn't really do much on the front side, so he went out the back door and Drake [Maye] was the guy that ultimately helped him to score. So, there's a lot of factors in that, but mostly it just comes down to the players making a play."

Without him in action, Stevenson took over the lead back role. But his absence removed an important dimension from the Patriots on Sunday night.
