Jerry Jones Says Cowboys Management Has Played 'Big Role' in NFL Super Bowl Drought
The Dallas Cowboys have now gone 30 seasons without a Super Bowl title after being eliminated from playoff contention this weekend. And team owner Jerry Jones conceded what many people have been saying for years—he's one of the main reasons for that drought.
"I'll admit that the Cowboys management has played a role, a big role," he told reporters.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Cowboys have been dubbed America's Team, but since winning a Super Bowl title in the 1995 season—on a roster constructed by former head coach Jimmy Johnson—the organization has won just five playoff games and hasn't even gotten as far as the NFC Championship Game.
For comparison, the Philadelphia Eagles won six playoff games, two NFC titles and a Super Bowl between the 2022-24 seasons alone. It's never great when your bitter rival has far more success in three seasons than you've had in 30.
With Sunday's 34-17 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Cowboys dropped to 6-8-1 on the season and are guaranteed to finish without a winning record for the second straight year.
"We all underachieved, really," Jones told reporters. "And the fact we're not in the playoffs says that for you."
Jones is remaining optimistic, however.
"We've got a team that I think has got a top future as far as next year's concerned," he added. "Starting with the offense, starting with that as we stand here tonight. And I think we've got the bones of a heck of a defense out there as well. And so I think that as we do things that are directed toward making us better, period, no matter who we do it with, as we do those things, we're starting [from a] real good spot. And I like what we've done with our cap. We're able to spend money if we need to. And we'll be able to draft with the picks we got. So I can give you all kinds of reasons why we can change-up what we're doing out here tonight."
Jones may be bullish on the future but Cowboys fans are probably leery of such optimism at this point. Thirty years bitten, twice shy.
