DK Metcalf Suspended, Updates on Steelers WR After Hitting Lions Fan in Viral Video

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their top receiver for two games.

The NFL suspended DK Metcalf for two games for hitting a Detroit Lions fan during Sunday's win.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the NFL and the Lions won't take any action against the fan involved in the altercation as he did not violate the fan code of conduct:

The incident occurred during the second quarter of Sunday's game. As Metcalf was talking to what appeared to be a Lions fan leaning over the railing, he struck the fan with a closed fist.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported after the altercation that the NFL planned to review it for potential discipline.

Metcalf had a frustrating half against the Lions, recording to just one catch for five yards. He also committed an offensive pass interference shortly after the altercation with the fan.

Metcalf finished the game with 42 yards on nine receptions. The first-year Steeler leads the team in yards (850) and touchdowns (6) this season, despite having a bit of a down year compared to some of his past campaigns.

With Metcalf suspended, the Steelers will have to manage without him against the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens.

Luckily for Pittsburgh, its chances of clinching the division and reaching the playoffs got much better with Sunday's win over the Lions along with a Ravens loss. A win over the Browns would clinch the AFC North, but being without Metcalf makes things slightly more difficult.
