Trevon Diggs Reveals How He Suffered Injury at Home That Landed Cowboys CB on IR
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs told reporters on Sunday that a mounted television pole fell on his head and caused the concussion that kept him out for eight games this season.
Diggs played the team's first six games this season before suffering the injury. He was activated ahead of Sunday's 34-17 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers, playing for the first time in over two months.

Plenty of speculation made the rounds after Diggs and the Cowboys were tight-lipped about what caused the injury. But with Diggs making his return on Sunday, he was finally ready to discuss the situation.
It's been an odd year for Diggs, to say the least.
In July, the team exercised a de-escalator clause in his contract and docked him $500,000 after he chose to rehabilitate his surgically repaired left knee in South Florida instead of with the team's training personnel. That meant he hadn't participate in 84 percent of the offseason program, leaving him open to the pay cut.
"No, I didn't expect that," he told reporters at the time. "That kind of hurt my feelings. But it's OK. Hopefully I make it back in incentives."
The 27-year-old also had a rough start to the 2025 season, registering zero interceptions or pass breakups in the first six games. Worse, he was targeted 15 times in those contests, with opponents completing 11 passes against him for 216 yards and three touchdowns.
Diggs was a Pro Bowler in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons, registering 14 interceptions and 35 passes defensed in that time, but injuries and a decline in production have defined his career since. Given that he doesn't have any guaranteed money remaining on his dealâand given that the Cowboys could save $12.5 million against the 2026 cap by releasing him this offseasonâit feels very likely that Diggs will be playing elsewhere next season.
