Liverpool Transfer News: Andre Wisdom Agrees Norwich Loan, Angelo Fulgini Latest

The competition for a full-back spot at Anfield will see Andre Wisdom farmed out again, as he prepares to join Norwich City on loan, with reports also emerging Liverpool have offered French midfielder Angelo Fulgini a trial.

Wisdom has previously spent time on loan with Derby County and West Bromwich Albion, but talkSPORT revealed on Tuesday the defender is set join the Canaries on a season-long deal.

Norwich will fork out £1.25 million for Wisdom's services after he initially impressed while at The Hawthorns last season, only to fade into the background following Tony Pulis' appointment at the club.

The temporary exit comes after the Reds signed England international Nathaniel Clyne for a reported £12.5 million. But broadcaster Melissa Reddy has highlighted fellow summer-arrival Joe Gomez as one to watch:

Gomez was signed from Charlton Athletic in June for a fee of £3.5 million and has impressed greatly in pre-season, presumably pushing Wisdom to search for first-team minutes elsewhere.

BT Sport presenter Matt Smith believes there may be further reasoning behind the decision, however, as the Daily Mail's Simon Jones links Paris Saint-Germain left-back Lucas Digne with an Anfield switch:

Norwich manager Alex Neil needs recruits of his own this summer after Carlos Cuellar and Javier Garrido took their leave of Carrow Road. Wisdom provides an injection of youth to the squad.

Wisdom will bring versatility to the Premier League new boys, playing at right-back and centre-back primarily, and he will look to show Brendan Rodgers why he deserves a more prominent Anfield role in the future.

Fulgini Invited to Liverpool on Trial

Clyne and Gomez may not be the only future competition for Wisdom, either, after it came to light the Merseysiders have offered Valenciennes starlet Fulgini the chance to train at the club.

Get French Football News revealed the English giants have been in contact with the France under-19 international, who has already made 16 Ligue 2 appearances for Valenciennes:

The 18-year-old is smoothly making his way through the national-team setup. He has amassed 12 appearances for Les Bleuets since making his debut for the U19s in 2014.

Earlier this year, right-sided Fulgini was reported to be catching Milan's attention, but Spanish newspaper Sport quoted the player as saying Barcelona would be his dream destination:

Milan are interested, but I haven't spoke with them. I know that they have talked with my agent, but it is nothing for me to worry about. I just want to focus on my work, on football.

I am strong, quick and I like to get forward as much as possible. The club that I dream of playing for one day is Barcelona, although I think the chances of that happening are really small.

Fulgini is a versatile talent. He started his career as a central midfielder before transitioning to the right flank, where he can feature at right-back or a more advanced capacity.

The teenager travelled to Sweden earlier this year for the 2015 European Under-19 Championship, where France exited at the semi-final stage after losing to the eventual champions, Spain 2-0.

International selectors would appear to have faith in the malleable youngster. But with very little first-team experience to his name, Fulgini faces a daunting trip to Merseyside should he accept.

Liverpool would be a major step up for the Ivory Coast-born asset, who is sure to court some attention if he does move to the Premier League outfit on a trial basis.
