Warmups Are Over, Bring on The SEC
I am sure that I am not the first Gator that by 1 this afternoon was saying " What the hell is going on???". As Trojans (NOT the good ones) came into The Swamp this afternoon, they put up one heck of a fight in the beginning. So much so that my mother even called and asked "can they lose this game?". I didn't want to say of course they can because it just seemed like a ridiculous question. As the first quarter passed though and Tebow and the rest of the boys started to wake up, I definitely became more confident.
The Gators look pretty strong when they are on, but the offense still has issues with protecting the qb. Even with the key losses from last year, there are quite a few players that are stepping up. As the last quarter started to reach about 7 minutes, I started to get anxious to watch another game though. I, being a true Gator, cannot believe I am going to say this, but I really was excited to watch the UT Vols and UCLA Bruins. Tennessee has never been a favorite of mine, but they are our usual first game of conference play and I really wanted to see what the Gators would be facing next week.
What I saw was basically what I expected. While the UT players have a lot of heart, they truly lack a QB in J. Crompton and they just don't really seem to have things together like they need to. I also think they lack a head coach that is worth a damn in Lane Kiffin.
I have a big issue with Mr. Kiffin and his lack of respect towards other teams in his conference and his accusations made about Urban Meyer and his recruiting practices but that is another article for another time.
With all that being said, the Gators have had two games to get the kinks worked out and I think they have a very solid shot at going all the way this year. Their toughest games are in the middle of the season and if they can keep the energy up and the players healthy it should grant Tebows last Gator Goal of an undefeated season.
