Bill Belichick's Potential NFL Landing Spots Revealed amid Rumors of 'Recent Interest'
After a disappointing first year coaching college football at UNC, legendary head coach Bill Belichick reportedly is being eyed by NFL teams.
NFL insider Josina Anderson reported that a league source said there's been "recent interest expressed, at the very least, in speaking with Bill Belichick on an exploratory basis from two teams." The New York Giants and Tennessee Titans already have head coach openings after the in-season firings of Brian Daboll and Brian Callahan, respectively.
Anderson went on to add that her "understanding" is Belichick "has upper-level personnel still fond of him in Atlanta, New York [and] Cleveland." Struggling teams are reportedly "going through customary evaluations this time of year," and she's been told that "up to [seven] more teams are monitoring [a] potential change at head coach," and "up to [three or four] more teams are considering change at general manager."

The Giants and Titans are tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the worst record in the NFL at 2-12. Belichick has ties to New York, as he made a name for himself as the Giants' defensive coordinator under legendary head coach Bill Parcells.
If Belichick chooses to leave the sidelines and pursue a general manager job, the Miami Dolphins have an opening after firing longtime GM Chris Grier earlier this season. The Dolphins are 6-8 and have been eliminated from playoff contention, so they could take a big swing and try to pursue Belichick.
The 2025 season was one to forget for the six-time Super Bowl champion. Belichick coached the Tar Heels to a 4-8 record, ending the year with three straight losses. UNC failed to qualify for a bowl game for the first time since 2018.
Belichick has maintained his commitment to the Tar Heels, but it can be expected that NFL teams will still explore the possibility of prying him away from the college ranks and bringing him back to the league.
