Iyo Sky, Rhea Ripley Win WWE Women's Tag Team Titles vs. Asuka, Kairi on Historic Raw

Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley defeated The Kabuki Warriors on the first Raw episode of 2026 on Monday night to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.

Sky and Ripley have been at odds with Asuka and Kairi Sane for the past few months due largely to the fact that The Kabuki Warriors turned on Iyo in retaliation for her friendship with Rhea.

While Iyo was initially reluctant to oppose The Kabuki Warriors due to her belief that they were family, she changed her mind after getting misted by Asuka, leading to a tag match at Crown Jewel.

Sky and Ripley were victorious on that occasion, but their rivalry with Asuka and Sane was far from over, and they ended up on opposing WarGames teams at Survivor Series as a result.

Iyo and Rhea's team came out on top, which led to them being among multiple tag teams to announce their intention to go after The Kabuki Warriors and the Women's Tag Team Championships.

Despite Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Lash Legend and Nia Jax, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and The Judgment Day all throwing their proverbial hats in the ring as well, Sky and Ripley were granted a title opportunity.

While Ripley and Sky are both decorated champions in WWE, Rhea hadn't been a tag team champ since 2021, nor had Iyo since early 2023.

Meanwhile, The Kabuki Warriors are three-time tag team champions together, making them one of the most successful women's tandems in WWE history.

Sky and Ripley have built some impressive chemistry in a relatively short amount of time, though, and as two of the top individuals in the WWE women's division, they still posed a major threat to Asuka and Kairi.

Their lack of experience as a team didn't come back to haunt them on Monday, as Iyo and Rhea beat The Kabuki Warriors to win the tag team titles for the first time as a duo.
