Glorious Goodwood 2015: Winners, Finishing Results and Prize Money Payouts

Toormore Holds Off Late Competition in Lennox Stakes
If the field had been allowed to have its way, Toormore would have fallen victim to a last-gasp lunge for the Goodwood finish, but the recently transferred colt held up his lead to clinch a very deserved win on Tuesday.
James Doyle gave a fine ride to see the four-year-old to his first Grade 1 win since September 2013, having endured a run of seven successive races without claiming first place.

Richard Hannon's horse fended off competition from Dutch Connection, Safety Check and Code Red to prevail in what was by no means an easy outing. Hannon emphasised as much when speaking to Channel 4 Racing:
Prior to Tuesday's result, Toormore had taken just over £177,000 in career winnings, per his official Racing Post profile, proving just what a landmark occasion this was for his career.
Galileo Gold Living Up to His Name

The second race on Day 1 gave Dettori an early chance to get a win under hi belt at Goodwood, and he did just that in the Qatar Vintage Stakes, making his way from the back of the pack at two furlongs out before romping home.
Race-favourite Birchwood found himself squeezed out early on, but Galileo Gold discovered his beat on the far side of the track to thunder past the rest.
Dettori was left impressed with his ride and lauded the quality of Galileo Gold, as well as giving credit to owner Sheikh Joaan and his Goodwood investment, per Sporting Life:
"It was a strong wind and everyone was trying to get cover. They are two-year-olds, so they're bound to run around a bit in the straight, but he showed a good attitude and I was very impressed. I got a good run through on the inside, he was very brave and quickened up very well.
It's the first runner of the meeting for us (Al Shaqab Racing), we've started off with a winner and my boss (Sheikh Joaan) is here today. He's put a lot of money in this week and it's nice for him to get a bit of reward back.
"
Ibn Malik finished three-quarters of a length behind the victor and Hannon-trained Palawan managed to rescue a third-place finish after getting stuck to the rail.
Even at 44 years of age, Dettori continues to prove a force among the elite of the racing scene and, as Channel 4 Racing confirmed, the veteran is the most successful jockey currently at Glorious Goodwood:
The Italian was hit with bad news earlier this week as it was announced his whip ban would prevent him competing in next month's Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup at Ascot, per Graham Green of the Racing Post.
That being said, the £113,000 payout earned for his team in Tuesday's performance will serve as a substantial boost, with the rider hoping to advance his superb Goodwood record after a fine start.
