Kris Statlander Beats Jamie Hayter to Retain AEW Women's Title at 2025 Worlds End

Kris Statlander beat Jamie Hayter at Worlds End on Saturday to retain the AEW Women's World Championship.

The Worlds End match between Statlander and Hayter was born from them recently joining forces on Collision.

On the Winter Is Coming edition of Collision, Statlander and Hayter teamed up to defeat Julia Hart and Skye Blue in a tag team bout, and Hayter scored the pinfall for her team.

During a backstage segment after the match, Hayter took the opportunity to challenge Statlander to a title match at Worlds End, and Kris quickly obliged.

Statlander became a AEW women's world champion for the first time in September when she shockingly beat incumbent champion Toni Storm in a four-way match that also included Hayter and Thekla.

One month later at WrestleDream, Statlander proved the win wasn't a fluke when she beat Storm in a one-on-one match to retain the title.

Statlander was faced with another massive challenge at Full Gear in November, and she was up to the task once again when she handed Mercedes Moné a rare loss en route to retaining the title.

Hayter won her first AEW women's world title at Full Gear 2022, and she held it for 191 days before dropping it to Storm.

An injury played a significant role in Hayter's loss, and she went on to miss more than a year of action before making her return at the All In pay-per-view in August 2024.

Ever since then, Hayter has been in search of championship gold, and Worlds End represented one of her best opportunities yet to return to the top of the AEW women's division.

Despite that, Statlander managed to retain once again at Worlds End, continuing her recent run of success against the best women's wrestlers AEW has to offer.
